Seasonal British-Italian Cooking, Wood-Fired From the Heart
Cooked with care, sourced locally, and served with love.
Our bar team craft every drink with the same dedication as our kitchen. From classic aperitivi to Chelsea originals, we stock over 60 spirits, cask ales, and a curated natural wine list.
The Goat in Boots has stood on Fulham Road since 1990 — a warm, candlelit corner of Chelsea where neighbours become regulars and strangers become friends.
After a thoughtful reopening, we returned with a new kitchen philosophy: seasonal British produce married to the soul of Italian cooking. Local sourcing, wood-fired technique, and an unwavering commitment to flavour.
Pull up a chair. You're welcome here exactly as you are.

"As a vegan, I'm often an afterthought at gastropubs. Not here. The Verona pizza is extraordinary — I brought my non-vegan partner and he ordered one for himself."
"Brilliant atmosphere, lovely staff and the wood-fired pizza is genuinely excellent. The cocktail list is creative without being pretentious. Our new favourite local."
Whether it's a casual weeknight supper, a long Sunday lunch, or a celebration to remember — The Goat in Boots is ready for you.
The Goat in Boots has been part of the Chelsea furniture since 1990. Tucked away on Fulham Road, we've seen generations of neighbours walk through our doors — first as first-timers, then as regulars, then as family.
After a period of thoughtful closure, we returned with renewed purpose and a kitchen philosophy that felt true: seasonal British cooking, elevated by the warmth and technique of Italian cuisine. Local farms. Honest ingredients. Food that tastes like it was made for someone you love.
Our wood-fired oven arrived from Naples. Our Sunday roast recipe was refined over many, many Sundays. And the bar has never served a cocktail it wasn't proud of.
Our menu changes with the seasons. We work directly with British farmers and suppliers to ensure what's on your plate has been grown or raised with care, harvested at the right moment, and handled with respect.
Our Neapolitan pizza oven fires at 450°C with seasoned English oak. It's the heart of the kitchen — a constant reminder that good cooking is elemental: fire, dough, salt, and time.
The Goat in Boots is a pub in the truest sense — a meeting place. Chelsea, Fulham, Kensington. Everyone is welcome at our tables. We celebrate the neighbourhood that has sustained us for over three decades.
Our head chef trained across London and Northern Italy before returning to Chelsea with a singular vision: food that is rooted in seasons, honest in technique, and generous in flavour.
"We don't overcomplicate things. Great produce doesn't need to be rescued — it just needs a good fire, the right salt, and a kitchen that cares." — Head Chef

"The Sunday roast is genuinely exceptional. The bone-marrow gravy is the best I've had in London, and I've been eating my way through Chelsea for twenty years. The staff remembered our names on the second visit. That's rare and remarkable."
"As a vegan, I genuinely struggle to find places where I feel properly catered for. The Verona pizza is extraordinary — my partner (very much not vegan) ordered one for himself after one bite of mine. The atmosphere is cosy and genuinely welcoming. We'll be back."
"Brilliant atmosphere, excellent cocktails, and the wood-fired pizza is legitimately one of the best in South West London. The Chelsea Bramble is now my non-negotiable. Slight wait for the food on a Saturday evening, but totally worth it."
"We celebrated my birthday here and it was absolutely perfect. They remembered it was a special occasion, brought us a little complimentary dessert, and the whole team was so warm and attentive. The Full English the next morning was equally impressive — yes, we stayed in Chelsea!"
We'd love to hear from you — whether it's a reservation, a question about our menu, or an enquiry about private hire.
